The 159th Birthday of Swami Vivekananda has been celebrated at Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka on 4 February, 2021 with due solemnity and spiritual fervour abiding by the `Covid-19’ guidelines of our Headquarters and the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The day began with Mangal Aratri in the early morning followed by special Puja, Homa, Vedic chanting, devotional songs, and readings from the works of Swamiji. Afterward, Revered Swami Paradevananda Ji Maharaj, former Head of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Bagerhat and Swami Purnatmananda, Head of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka discussed on ‘Swami Vivekananda and His Message’. About 600 devotees attended the program and took cooked Prasad.
After the evening prayer, the discourse meeting on ‘Swami Vivekananda’ was held in the shrine. Swami Purnatmananda presided over the meeting. Speakers included Mr. Subal Chandra Saha, Vice-President of the Managing Committee of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka and a leading industrialist of Bangladesh, and Advocate Bhim Charan Roy, Rtd. Additional Secretary of the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and a member of our Managing Committee. Address of welcome was offered by Swami Haripremanada, Assistant Secretary, Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission and vote of thanks by Swami Shantikarananda, Assistant Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
Approximately 500 devotees took cooked prasad after the program.
