The Celebration of Sri Sri Durga Puja-2021 at Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka

With due consideration of the ‘Covid-19’ guidelines of the Govt. of Bangladesh and the Headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka, Bangladesh celebrated Sri SriDurga Puja with usual solemnity, festivity, and spiritual fervour like the previous years.

The physical presence of the devotees was great in number in spite of the panic of Pandemic ‘Covid-19’. The whole program was telecast live-stream and was witnessed by lakhs of viewers.

Mr. Vikram K Doraiswami, the Hon’ble High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh, visited Durga Puja on Saptami with his wife and other top officials of the office of the High Commission. Among other dignitaries, Mr. FazleNur Tapas, Hon’ble Mayor, Dhaka(South) City Corporation; Mr. KaziFiroz Rashid, Local MP; Mr. G. M. Kader, President, and Mr. MujibulHaqChunnu MP, General Secretary, of Bangladesh Jatiya Party; Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. MD. Shafiqul Islam along with other top Police officials visited Puja on that day.

On the Navami day, Mr. Obaidul Quader MP, General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Hon’ble Minister of Roads, Transport and Bridges Ministry of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Mr. Faridul Haq Khan MP, State Minister of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh visited Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka. This year due to the Covid restrictions, Mrs. Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh was not able to visit Dhaka Math, but she conveyed her greetings to the Secretary of Dhaka Centre through a Video Conferencing.

Police and Para Military forces were deployed to maintain law and order and supervise the other security arrangements during the Puja. Nothing untoward happened. On Dashami day, immersion took place in the pond of our campus as on earlier occasions, and Shantijal ceremony was held in the presence of more than 1000 devotees at 7:30 pm.

Total 12,600 devotees took Kichudiprasad during these days.
