The 127th Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission was celebrated at Ramakrishna Math and
Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, with due solemnity and spiritual fervour on 1 May 2023. The first session of the day included Vedic chanting, Special Puja, Homa, Pushpanjali, reading from the scriptures, renedition of devotional songs, and talks of Revered Srimat Swami Purnatmanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha and Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, and Revered Diksha Guru Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Order, Bangladesh.
The second session comprised discussion meeting on the topic ‘Relevance of the Ideal of Service in the Present Society’. Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Tapas, Honourable Mayor, Dhaka South City Corporation, was the chief guest of the event. Mr. Kazi Firoz Rashid, Honourable Member of the Parliament, Dhaka-06, Bangladesh, and Advocate Sri Mrinal Kanti Das, Honourable Member of the Parliament, Munshigonj-03, Bangladesh, were the special guests in the meeting. Mr. Rukonuddin Ahmed, Counsellor, Ward No. 39, Dhaka South City Corporation, was also a Guest speaker; Justice Soumendra Sarker, Bangladesh Supreme Court, presided over the discussion meeting, where Srimat Swami Purnatmanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha and Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, and Revered Diksha Guru Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Math Order, Bangladesh, offered the benedictory address. The welcome address was offered by Swami Shantikarananda, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
After the discussion, Geetinatya titled `Tyaga O Seva’ was performed by the children artistes of ‘Spandan’ Cultural Academy, Dhaka, under the guidance of Sri Shubhashish Dutta Tanmoy.
1,560 devotees in total took cooked prasad on that day.
