The Celebration of Sri Sri Durga Puja-2022 at Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka

Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka, Bangladesh celebrated Sri Sri Durga Puja with usual solemnity, festivity, and spiritual fervor like the previous years.

The physical and virtual presence of the devotees were great in number. The whole program was telecast live stream and was witnessed by lakhs of viewers. During the 5(five)days of the Puja nearly one lakh people visited our pandal and witnessed and enjoyed the Puja.

On the Shasthi day, the participation of the devotees was spontaneous and captivating, and with full of joy of their hearts. Authority of the Administration came to visit Puja mandap on all days of the Puja.

On the Saptami day, Mr. Obaidul Quader MP, Hon’ble Minister of Roads, Transport and Bridges Ministry of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League on behalf of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who was on a diplomatic visit to abroad; Mr. Faridul Haq Khan MP, State Minister of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Barrister Biplob Barua, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Awami League Office Secretary, visited Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka. Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, the Inspector General of Police(IGP) also came on that day.

Hon’ble President of Bangladesh, Mr. Abdul Hamid did not visit Durga Puja for the Covid restrictions but he invited the President of the Math for exchanging Durga Puja greetings. Owing to her diplomatic visit to abroad, Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh was not able to visit Dhaka Math during the Puja, but she invited the President of the Center to convey her greetings through a Video Conferencing.

On the Ashtami day, Major General A K M Nazmul Hasan, the Chief of Ansar and VDP Bangladesh came to visit Durga Puja along with other officials.

Dr. Binoy George, Deputy High Commissioner of India in Dhaka, Bangladesh came to visit the Puja along with the other dignitaries of his office on the Navami day.

Police and Para Military forces were deployed to maintain law and order and supervise the other security arrangements during the Puja. Nothing untoward happened. On the Dashami day, immersion took place in the pond of our campus as on earlier occasions, and shantijal ceremony was held in the presence of more than 1000 devotees at 7:30 pm.

All the news media covered our programmes widely.

Approximately 40,000 (Fourty thousand) people took cooked prasad during 5(five) days of Puja.
