Ramakrishna Math, Dhaka, celebrated the birthday of Sri Krishna with due solemnity and spiritual fervour on 26 August 2024. First session of the day featured with the chanting of all the chapters of Srimad Bhagavad Gita with the participation of monks, brahmacharins, students and devotees. A few devotional songs were sung thereafter. Prior to all of that ‘Sri Sri Durgakathamu’ upon which the Durga image will be built, was worshiped in the early morning.
The second session started after the evening prayer. It included a discourse of Srimat Swami Purnatmanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha and Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, on the ‘Significance of the birth of Sri Krishna’ as well as Special Puja and Shyamnam Sankirtan.
The presence of the devotees was spontaneous during both the evening and morning sessions.
Total 1,500 devotees were served cooked prasad.
