Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, solemnly observed the 130th Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission on 1 st May 2026 in a peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The program was organized in two sessions, with the participation of a large number of monks, devotees and well-wishers.
The first phase commenced at 7:30 am and featured special worship of Sri Ramakrishna,
Vedic chanting, homa (sacrificial fire ritual), scriptural readings and devotional music
performed by monks and devotees. Following the rituals, a discussion session was held on the topic “Ramakrishna Mission Ideals and Activities.” The address was delivered by Srimat Swami Purmatmanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha and Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, as well as the Spiritual Head of Ramakrishna Sangha in Bangladesh. The session concluded with prayers for universal peace and distribution of prasad among attendees.
The second phase began at 7:30 p.m. after the evening Aratri and consisted of a discussion meeting on the ‘Ideal of Service’ The session was presided over by Justice Sri Soumendra Sarkar, Supreme Court of Bangladesh and President, Managing Committee, Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
The Honorable State Minister for Liberation War Affairs, Mr. Ishraque Hossain, graced the
occasion as the Chief Guest. The Special Guest was Ms. Anne Marie George, First Secretary (Political) and Director of the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre. High Commission of India in Dhaka.
In the meeting benedictory address was offered by Revered Swami Purnatmanandaj Maharaj, Adhyaksha and Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, as well as the Spiritual Head of Ramakrishna Sangha in Bangladesh. In the addresses, the distinguished speakers highly appreciated the selfless service activities carried out by Ramakrishna Mission.
Swami Haridasananda, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, delivered the
welcome address. and greeted the distinguished guests and participants. The program began with the Vedic chanting of Swami Ambeshananda and Swami Devapalananda Maharaj. The devotional opening song was rendered by Swami Punyadananda Maharaj.
The program of both sessions concluded successfully in a serene devotional, and harmonious atmosphere, marked by enthusiastic participation and heartfelt cooperation from all.
In two sessions, total 1500 devotees took cooked prasad.
