Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka celebrated the 186th Birthday Celebration of Sri Ramakrishna on 15 March 2021 strictly adhering to the precautionary guidelines of `Covid-19’ of the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Headquarters’ of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
Consisting of two sessions, first session of the Program comprising Special Puja, Homa, Vedic chanting, readings from the scriptures, devotional songs and public meeting on Sri Ramakrishna started at 7a.m.. Revered Swami Paradevananda Maharaj, Former Head of Ramakrishna Mission and Ashrama, Bagerhat, delivered his talk at 11:20 a.m. and Swami Purnatmananda, Head of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, spoke at 11:40, followed by Pushpanjali at 12:00 noon and Naranarayan Seva at 12:30 p.m.
Second session was featured with `Padavali Kirtan’ and Discussion. `Padavali Kirtan’ was rendered by Sri Nilip Acharya and Party at 3:00 p.m and the public meeting titled `Uniqueness of Sri Ramakrishna’ held after the evening prayer at 7:15 pm. Swami Purnatmananda presided over the meeting which included Mr. Soumendra Sarker, Justice (Rtd.), Supreme Court, Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest and Mr. Vikram K. Doraiswami, High Commissioner, High Commission of India in Bangladesh, as Guest of Honour. Address of Welcome was offered by Swami Haripremananda, Assistant Secretary, Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission and Vote of Thanks by Swami Shantikarananda, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
Total 2500 devotees took Kichudi prasad, and more than 500 devotees attended the evening program.
