The 129th Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission was celebrated at Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, with due solemnity and spiritual fervour on 1 May 2025.
The first session of the day included Vedic chanting, Special Puja, Homa, reading from the scriptures, renedition of devotional songs and Pushpanjali. The second session of the event was featured with discussion on ‘The Ideal of Service’. It began after the evening prayer at ‘Swami Aksharananda Auditorim’ of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka. Mr. A F M Khalid Hossain, Hon’ble advisor of the Misnistry of Religion, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, presided over the program as the Chief Guest whereas Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachhar, Professor, Department of Pharmace, University of Dhaka was the special guest. In the meeting presidential address was rendered by Justice Sri Soumendra Sarker, Bangladesh Supreme Court and the president of the Managing Committee of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
To begin with the program, welcome address was offered by Swami Haridasananda, Upadhyaksha and Assistant Secretary of the Centre and vote of thanks was rendered by Swami Kalpeshananda, Treasurer, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
Discussion meeting begins with an opening song rendered by Female artist Mrs. Sushmita Saha and ended with a closing song rendered by Mis. Suma Saha. However, prior to the opening and closing song, the children artists of ‘spandan’, a cultural organization, performed a group dance.
Total 1,560 devotees took cooked prasad on that day.
