Report on the 30th Annual General Meeting of Vivekananda Shiksha O Sangskriti Parishad, Bangladesh

The 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Vivekananda Shiksha O Sanskriti Parishad (VSSP), Bangladesh was held on Friday at the ‘Swami Aksharananda Auditorium’, Savita Bhavan, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka. The meeting brought together representatives from across the country to review Parishad’s activities, discuss its future course of action, and strengthen its organizational framework for the coming years.

The meeting was presided over by Engr. Sri Ashutosh Roy, President of the Central
Committee. Representatives from 88 of the Parishad’s 100 branches, along with
approximately 380 representatives and 140 guests, participated in the AGM. Representatives of Ramakrishna Mission, members of the Central Executive Committee, branch representatives from different districts, well-wishers, and heads of various Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission centres were also present.

The formal proceedings began with floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda, followed by Vedic chanting and an inaugural song. Dr. Pritam Nag, Vice-President of VSSP, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the Parishad’s organizational position, objectives and ongoing activities.

Review of Activities and Organizational Progress

The Annual Report was presented by Dr. Sukanta Roy, General Secretary, accompanied by a photographic presentation of the Parishad’s activities during the preceding year. Sri Ashutosh Bhattacharya, Treasurer, presented the Annual Financial Report. Representatives of different divisions subsequently shared reports on their respective organizational activities.

A major segment of the AGM was an open discussion on “The Future Course of Action of Vivekananda Shiksha O Sanskriti Parishad.” Heads of various Ramakrishna Ashrams and Ramakrishna Mission centres shared their valuable observations on further disseminating the ideals and message of Swami Vivekananda.
Sri Debashish Pal, Principal of Jagannath Hall, University of Dhaka, emphasized the
importance of developing closer and more meaningful engagement between the Parishad and the younger generation.
The Chief Guest, Justice Soumendra Sarkar, called upon members of the Parishad to uphold the continuity of its work for social transformation through transparency and sincerity.

The concluding session of the AGM featured the blessings of Srimat Swami Purnatmanandaji Maharaj, Head and Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka. He announced the newly constituted Advisory Committee and 37-member Central Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term and administered the oath to the newly constituted committees.
Engr. Sri Ashutosh Roy was re-elected President, while Dr. Sri Sukanta Roy was re-elected General Secretary of the Central Committee.
The formal proceedings concluded with the President’s concluding remarks and vote of thanks, followed by a closing song, Prasad distribution and a group photograph.

Strengthening the Parishad’s Future Activities

An extended discussion with representatives of branch committees was held in the afternoon. The session provided an opportunity to review organizational challenges and formulate proposals for strengthening the Parishad’s activities at the divisional and grassroots levels.

Among the principal proposals and areas identified for further action were:

◘ Strengthening divisional coordination through regular meetings and closer inter-
divisional cooperation.
 Expanding grassroots activities through greater involvement of devotees and members of local Ramakrishna Mission and Sevashrama centres.
 Enhancing participation of branch representatives in Central Committee meetings
through more interactive and two-way discussions.
◘ Increasing youth engagement through meaningful, attractive and sustainable
programmes inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
◘ Expanding educational and social service initiatives, including financial assistance to poor and meritorious students and wider dissemination of Gita education.
◘ Exploring the establishment of a central Legal Wing comprising members of the legal profession to provide timely legal assistance and advice to Parishad members when
required.

The 30th Annual General Meeting marked an important milestone in the organizational journey of the ‘Vivekananda Shiksha O Sanskriti Parishad, Bangladesh’. With renewed leadership, wider participation and a clear emphasis on youth engagement, grassroots development, education and social service, the Parishad looks forward to strengthening its activities across Bangladesh while advancing the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
